Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

over all care makes a huge difference, but we have brought in birds who didnt have good feathering and within a month on Mazuri they were molting and over all condition was a 9. I also think the fact we have year round grazing makes a difference too. Mazuri isnt available everywhere, its a zoological feed, so most feed stores dont carry it, and feed mills deffinetly dont. We buy the wolf food too for our Pyr male since he has a hard time keep weight on in the summer

Thanks for the compliment Amy.

My local feed store will order it for me but like I said its $41 for a 50# bag for the mazuri matinence and $39-40 for starter. My friend get a very small discount cause she orders all her monkey, lemur, sloth, and wolf (two toons at a time) food through a feed store but if I did that it would only be a dolor or two off and I would have to drive two hours to get it. I will try to find some info on x-cel feeds and post it on here.

Thanks everyone for helping :)

Sorry to bring it up again, but I have another color question.
If you cross 2 colors- like lavender and splash, or buff and saddleback, for example, are you more likely to see that marbleing show up in the colored feathers?

What you are seeing is twisted wing tip on that seb. She has kind of stiff flights and they have been broken so they stick out like that. She would probably look better if she were in better condition also.

You could try to pull the feathers a few at a time on that wing so that they grow back. She may also just be at the end of her molt and those wing feathers are still growing. You need to pick her up and do a good inspection on her.
I will try and catch her and pull them gently out. Yes, the pen they were in was quite muddy. They are now allowed to roam all day. I had to have them penned up for a bit so they could get used to me. She is not even a year old yet, can they molt before then? Seems I read that they molt every 6 months or so?

Better pictures of the Sebbie with messed up wings~

and pictures of the geese enjoying some bath time. Yes...don't tell me! I need several more pools! What does everyone use for the geese/ducks if you do not have a pond? I've seen some big black plastic pools that are much deeper than the kiddie pools at TSC and Gebo's. Also thought about using a stock tank, one of those big round ones.
