Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

Well it looks like I have 2 ganders... two of the geese have paired off... and one of them hisses and chases third one away. Pulls the feathers on his back and such. Soo now I need to remove the bachelor..... I don't want him to be alone and I know the chances of him accepting a mate this is yr is a snowballs chance in hell... but IS there anyone in the NH area that has a healthy young extra goose that would be willing to sell me or trade for eggs from my pair.... or eggs from my English BBS Orpingtons???? I even have a splash roo/ black pullet pair of Orps and chicks available right now .... Please... I need your help Prefer white... but any color would be fine.... My main concern is his safety and happiness.

thank you.

It ended this morning. I usually do a portion for the Nature Conservancy on all of my auctions. I have to do some research though, because I did not get a statement for tax purposes on what I gave through "giving works" last year. I know it was a lot because some of my chicken eggs went pretty high.

So obviously the wonderful staff here was able to get me logged back in! I am trying to recover some of my better goose pics since the laptop was fried, so if anybody is browsing back and happens to see ones, especially the colored birds, please send me a link. Thanks everybody.

I would like to publicly thank Goose and Fig for coming to my Garth's aid. She is sending him a sweet goose to share his life with. He won't be lonely now. :) I am going to show him her picture tomorrow. :) Why he got himself one of them mail order brides... hahaha :)

That is why we bought a generator so when I am incubating eggs and the power goes out when can just start up the gererator. I had that happen before on us and lost the whole batch.....

Sorry and wish you quick light back on.

If you have a gas stove... you could heat water. I recently sold some chicks to a very nice lady that drove from CT to northern NH to get them.... I took a box with shavings... Put anempty plastic coffee ground container in the corner .... Put ziplock bag filled with hot water in empty coffee container. Something like this.. or a hot water bottle might help hold the heat without raising the humidity. good luck... and yes we bought a genny too for outtages
