I usually sell hatching eggs and started birds. I don't ship my goslings.

I try to grow out as many birds as I can each year so I can keep the best for breeding.

Hello all,

I have been lurking for a while and finally got my first pair of Sebastopols about a month ago. They are just lovely and the one year old goose has just started laying. I understand that fertility is low the first year and that they don't lay very much. The gander is 3 years old and has been quite busy attending to her. She has laid two eggs out in the open so far but has each day been perfecting her big straw nest. I am wondering if I can collect some of the eggs she eventually lays in her nest and incubate them and let her set some if she chooses to. Will I dampen her interest in setting if I keep stealing her eggs? Will she even set the first year of laying? Thanks!!
