Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

Hi Renie! ! Sorry I must have missed the earlier post. Good to see you.

Sorry for your loss, SS. Will keep you in mind if I see any close. I am probably too big of a hike for you.
You are almost 9 hours away, but if you happen to get up around Cincinatti, that's about half way. Or, maybe we can find someone between here & there to relay them part way. What do you have available?

I am waiting on the text kits to arrive., but I *think* I gave a grey saddleback split for buff male and a buff sb female ( both smothbreast) and 3 super curly whites that may carry color-gender unknown. The longer I have tyem though the more I like them-Lol!
Sometimes we go to Lexington to meet our family from Cleveland., so travel isn't completely out of the question. Send me sn email if you can so I have contact info ;)

My 6 month old Sebastopol goose (or gander) weighs 6 pounds. She was hatched at the beginning of March and her name is Goosey.

My 2 1/2 month old Sebastopol gander already weighs 8 pounds and his feet are double the size of Goosey's feet. His neck is also much longer than hers.

I'm wondering if Goosey is smaller than she should be or if Gooser is larger than he should be?

Both of them occasionally will let out a high pitched shriek, so it's possible that they are both boys.

On the lower weight goose it is still young and growing so give her time to put on more weight as she grows older. Males always grow faster than females and put on the weight sooner than females do. Now if it is a gander yes, it is just a slow grower. Time will tell gender of the one smaller one.

Ok, thanks!

I can change my avatar but no other pics.

Yes, I do believe that duck thinks she is a goose! I have one lonely drake who sneaks into the geese pen because he does not want to be alone. I lost his female to a darn hawk!!! I do not want anymore ducks at this time. Plus husband would have a hissy fit if I got any more ducks!
