Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

Long skinny neck & umbrella handle head. Classic signs of an indian runner. If he looks like a wine bottle with legs when he stands up straight then that's definitely what he is. I raise runners.

Here she is alone. Always sneaking in with the geese- it puts that song from Sesame Street in my head "One of these things is not like the others..."

So apparently I have to upload pictures to facebook, then copy and paste them from there. Just got the laptop back with a new hard drive- wonder if that has something to do with it?

GF we had our 2nd computer fry on us not to long ago. It was only two years old!

Lost all my pictures. Not only did the mother board go out but the processor went out too. So yes, it can be the computer.

I really like your chocolate Indian runner duck!!!

Thanks! I love the runners- even if they are just for comic relief. And the blue eggs are so pretty.

I think I am on my 4th laptop in 5 years. Finally got one that broke during its warranty, but I had to pay somebody $100 to get my pictures and everything out. And then pay shipping to TX. Ugh!

Yep, that's a runner. Pretty good quality too.

Ive been wanting some geese for a long time and found a pair of sebastopols for 100$. They are gorgeous but Im still nervous about getting a pair from a breeder ive never dealt with before of course just because I have some decently rare breeds and all super healthy and Im always paranoid about bringing diseases in

. Ive asked if I can go see them in person. Any suggestions for what I should be looking for ?

I have been breeding sebbies for several years, but still see myself as a beginner. I will toss my two cents in. I would look for healthy looking birds, as in good weight, decently clean feathers, not too afraid of their owner, have a decent sized pen, food and clean water and shelter available. You could ask what breeding stock they are from. About diseases, if waterfowl are properly taken care of, they have few health problems. I would say the most common problem is mites and other bugs if they do not have adequate fresh bathing water. Waterfowl are much more disease resistant than chickens. Of course, I would make sure they are not coughing or having obvious signs of distress. Good luck. Sebbies are wonderful pets!
