If you've joined Sebastopol Lover's forum we do have a genetics forum with information that might be able to help you,
plus we have members that are more knowledgeable than myself when it comes to mind numbing genetics...
not my forte...but Dave Holderread told me when you cross lavender x buff you get all blues that will carry the lavender gene.
Please feel free to post any questions on the Sebbie forum.

Cottage Rose, Thanks, I think you've answered my question. I bought six goslings from Barb and have been trying to determine their color. We think the parents of the goslings could be "Spicie" (a lavendar saddleback) and "Cinnamon" (a buff saddleback). I've been watching their colors develop and thinking that they would be lavendar. However, it looks to me that they are blue. If Buff X Lavendar = Blue that would explain why all of my goslings look like they're blue.

how old are your babies?

Did you give them over ripe watermelon? If so, that can get them drunk. If not then they may need more protein. Do they have enough clean water? I hope they feel better. I wish I was better help.

Jean, those goslings are lovely! I don't know enough about colors or splashes to comment. But since this has become the *official* show off your Sebastopol thread, I thought I'd share mine! Hope those goslings you got from me are doing well!

Here are George and the Georgettes, that I got last fall -- pictured with my beloved Cherie before she left. And then there is a short video of the last goslings of the season. 4 of the boys are going to live on a great farm in Vermont on Monday. The rest I will keep until fall to see how they turn out in both type and feathering, then I'll keep one and let the rest go.
