Goodbye MAMA.

Thinking of you.

I've got a wonky gosling. Its been walking funny from the beginning, but I thought it just had to grow into its giant legs. Seems to be getting more noticeable. They are on non-medicated feed and pasture and extra greens. Could this still be a deficiency? Do I need to get niacin or something? The other 8 babies have no issues.
Thanks guys.

I have a problem as well. One of my adult female sebbie geese is limping. I thought she may have bumble foot or something, but caught her today and her foot is clean on top and bottom. I felt up her leg and noticed her hock (or elbow) is warmer than the other and slightly swollen. She doesn't have any visible injury on it. She has been this way for 3 days now. Is there anything I should be doing?

I'm not an expert on geese, but with any animal with a joint injury I would make sure there was no way for them to further injure it. So, for starters, I'd make sure there is nothing in her area that she can jump, trip, or climb on. Does she have a pool to swim in? That might help if it will take the weight off it, keep it moving, and keep it cool.

Hopefully someone with experience will jump in with some advice!

Jean sorry for your loss.

Amy can you post any pictures of the gosling?

Daze, could she have twisted it? is their heat above or below the knee?

Sorry for not posting more, life is being too demanding lately. I did get some more new pictures, and will try and take new ones tomorrow to share too.

Jean, this is a grandbaby goose of yours. She (Jubilee) is from the girl with the spot on her head (Sassy) we got from you last year.
