My male Sebastopol gosling has been having trouble with the longest of his wing feathers. They seem to be breaking off at the point where they come out of the shaft. Originally I thought he had angel wing, but I do not think so now. I did wrap his wings a few times but the wrapping did not stay on long, but did seem to help. As he is getting a bit older though, the feathers come back but then break off again. Today I notice some little bit of blood on the end of the shaft of a lost feather. He appears healthy and happy otherwise.

Any thoughts? NevadaEmma

Some sort of force such as tugging from an object or biting from an animal may be causing the bleeding and loss of feathers. I suggest monitoring your gosling to see if he is getting along with other goslings if you have any. If they do not get along, try separating them. If that's not the case, make sure there aren't any ways predators can get into their cage.

All four get along quite well, they are all happy and healthy. The other three are female. One is definitely and Emden, not sure about the other two. They are slightly smaller, but are all white with blue eyes. They are in a very secure home at night and free range during the day. Nothing else seems to be the matter and no blood anywhere else. It seems as though the shafts and end wing feathers are weak or brittle. By the way, the feathers that are coming out are all long, straight end-of-the wing feathers. Thanks for the response though.
