My local feed store has 3-day old straight run Sebrights can you tell sex by coloring - like with some breeds? I want to get a couple for my broody hen, but female only. Some are solid yellow and some have stripes. Photo attached. Thank you for your input.

No, you can't tell by their colour.
You'll have to wait, maybe...? 2.5 months till you can really tell.

Thanks! Well, just so I’m not giving away a rooster later after I get attached I decided to get these cuties. 2 black Australorps… probably should get three, but came home with these and will put them under her wings tonight.
