When we recently finished our chicken coop, we moved our 6 Sebrights (5 hens, 1 rooster) in first and waited about 3 weeks to move in our Wyandottes (4 hens), thinking we don't want the big Wyandottes to "beat up" the little Sebrights. Prior to the big coop the two breeds were in two separate cages where they could see and hear each other. The problem now is that the Sebright rooster (and sometimes one of the Sebright hens) attack the Wyandottes. He tries to push them in a corner and keep them there. I know he's trying to protect his "women", but he doesn't really stand a chance when the Wyandottes fight back. Now he's bloody, but still trying to go after the Wyandotte hens. Why is he attacking hens?
