I would mark them and see when they get older. I know some breeder's strains can show sex linkage with the feathering out. But it could also just be different parents, one strain being faster feathering than the other. That is probably more likely.

they sure are cute! I have some the same age.
Good idea to mix them with other breeds at a young age if they are going to be in a mixed flock later.

Hi. My silver sebright roo has mites. i have dusted him. He has some eggs at the base of a couple feathers. I know i have read that you are supposed to cut these feathers off. But hes so small! what should i do?

Yes you can pluck the feathers. I typically do this then burn the feathers to kill the eggs. Be careful though, they are VERY flammable! Make sure you get as many feathers as you can. The fewer eggs, the better. After that just keep re-dusting every 7-10 days until they are gone.

Is there a hatchery that sells decent Sebrights, at all? I will never show any birds, I'm sure, but I would like some purebred 'Brights, just for my own enjoyment. I lovw the way they look, and they have been my goal for a few years, now. I have my standard EE's and Red Sexlinks for my eggs, and I have a few other Bantams just because I liked their look, but I really want to purchase 'Brights. The 2 birds that I mentioned in my earlier post are the only Sebrights that I have ever seen, in person. The older Golden that I bought (and it died) was from a flea market, and I knew better than to buy it, but did, for $4. The Silver came from TSC, but they arne't getting Bantams, this year, and I doubt that any of us could pick a Sebright from a chick assortment, anyway. I am ready to purchase chicks, between now and the next 2 months, and am really looking for a good source. Again, I don't expect to ever show a bird, I just want attractive, purebred birds for my own yard.
