I have been breeding silver sebs for a couple of years now, got some nice SQ stock from a breeder. I just love love love sebrights, even the craziest hen turned into the biggest cuddle bug after a few weeks of regular handling.
I had people buy them from me to use around special needs children due to their sassy yet calm and inquisitive nature.

With the show line production was moderate to poor, 2-3 eggs a week from May to October, no broodiness to speak of.

Very sensitive to cold and humidity, so I would not dare put any of mine with ducks, which are constantly wet and yucky.

As for roosters, my 3 were always friendly, more on the spooky side if anything.

Digging up an old thread I found when searching for some info about these stunning bantams. I have 2 fertile eggs (and 2 maybees) in my bator, want an eye candy in my pen. A bit disapointed that it seems everyone agree they are so unfriendly though. nor good layers, but that I knew beforehand. Hope mealworms can make them a bit more positive about humans than the average sebright and hope they hatch and grow up at all also. 9 days now, candled them yesterday.

Lost my darling SIlver Sebright rooster today, Zac Was very saddened of his passing as he was such a sassy little guy. My hens are so "lost" without him, so I will be looking for a new rooster very soon. They are a bit flighty, but I love how showy they are...my rooster was the most approachable of the bunch and loved to be hand fed......RIP dear Zac.
