Well, it's really slushy and gross out there. I let the turkeys out of their run yesterday as it was all coming down because it was 32* and they seemed to be so HAPPY in it...and they went all over the edge of the woods barking and drumming, gobbling and yipping! Silly beasts. They were just as happy to cozy up in the coop when it started to hit dusk, though, so the trees must not have seemed like much fun for an overnight.
Glad to see we'll be absconding with more participants! This is a fun hatch, and it's really nice to have a multi-stage event like this with turkey tutors and a small enough group that we can keep up somewhat. What are you all hatching for? I'm going to sell most of the poults, I think, and maybe hang on to a couple for the holidays. I don't like the RP nearly as well personality-wise, so I'll likely keep a couple of those so it won't be so hard to send them off.
Is anyone else starting seeds in the house? I have 8" sets of three sisters threatening to migrate into the houseplants...and 6" of snow on the ground, so I can't do much about it!
I think I'll plant some more, just the same. It'll be good to get that jump start and have an early harvest.
