The BCM rooster I had is no more. A coyote got him and I was planning to keep one of the new ones growing out. Now, I'm not sure. I think I may try to get one from a different line. Or stop using the hens. I'm glad to hear you had no problems. Did you get any that appear to be full BCM? I know you have at least one that is full Ameraucana (EE). How many are pullets and how many cockerals did you end up with? I know you sent two or three to the goat man, are you planning to process any anytime soon? I will be interested to see how they dress out.

The ones that went to the goatman also got taken by a coyote. He got most of the girls from that hatch. I kept the prettiest 2 from yours and 2 from the other batch. One of your girls is almost BCM like but her feathered shanks are spotted. It's so cute.

I did not get any that appear to be full BCM. Right now I have 2 pullets left from you and the rest boys. I hatched a large amount of boys this time. It's either/or for me. I never get 50% hatches. The last hatch that I can sex at this time I got 4/5 boys.

I'll keep you posted on their weights. They're looking big enough to process now but not quite full enough to do so, yet.

They did really well especially for shipped eggs & the fact that the last 3 batches of keets I tried to hatch I didn't get a single baby out of. I think I ended up with 23 babies from 46 eggs so 50% is a fabulous keet ratio for me.

OK, runners have been claimed for this week. Still up for grabs are 40+ pekins, 25+ calls & 10+ Scovies. If anyone is interested, just let me know what you have to swap. Right now, eggs are not on my "want" list due to overflowing bators unless you have sebbies.

THOSE I will find room for regardless of how full my bators are!!! JJ LOVES applebutter or really any jam/jelly/butter that he can spread on crackers & munch while watching TV. Other items of interest would be rubber/plastic feed bowls suitable for fermented feed, baby feeders, baby waterers, quail feeders/waterers or an incubator...LOL Just PM me if interested. I'll consider other things too, especially stuff suitable for a 9 yr old girl or 6 yr old boy.

If I wasn't so swamped with other things right now I'd take some of those calls. I have a bunch of jars of blackberry jelly from last year and everyone is sick of the stuff. Dad and I went a little overboard when we were picking them last year.

I also have an update for you on the quail. I have 4 boys and 3 girls. I was hoping the A&M would turn out to be a girl, but that wasn't meant to be.

I need to get some new pics of them. I just haven't had the time.

I moved the quail out of the brooder and into a wire bottom cage we normally use for chicks that are too big for the rabbit hutch, but too small to go out in one of the coops. They are really mad at me right now.

At least I let them have their box. It's the only thing they're happy about.
