X2I wouldn't mind being bombed with those. Sooooo beautiful!
I never toss a 28 day egg until at least day 14.Oh crux...lets see if I can remember all the multis I pushed. Grrrrr
Ceoka...your humidaire incubator is not helping you be restrained. You should come to POOPS. A great place to sell chicks and meet fellow byc'ers. And for those who are curious POOPS is People Of Oklahoma Poultry Swap for local BYC'ers.
SCG you do great dialogues. With pics. Love the duck one but the emu ones are my fav.

Hmmmm....what else...what else....senior moments...
Or Blonde moment change of topic.....
I keep candeling but don't see any veins in the turkey eggs. Only 6 days but normally I see veins by now in chicken eggs. Should I be worried?
My fiance just rolls his eyes & asks who ordered whatever breed I'm putting in.Just popped my tutor eggs into the bator. DH never realized that I may or may not have had an abundance of brown eggs going in![]()
That was great info!!! I really appreciate it.SCG's Quick Guide to Ducklings:
1. They make a GIANT, wet mess. If brooding indoors, get incontinence bed pads at your local pharmacy and put those down in the brooder. Change at least every 24 hours.
2. Ducklings are incredibly cute and look great in your bathtub. Throw some peas or shredded lettuce in. Don't worry about them "getting wet" - they'll dry off. Do this while you're cleaning the brooder and letting it dry. And then when you're done with them swimming put them back in the brooder, and then bleach your tub. Twice.
3. Ducklings will steal your soul. They also love to be fed dried mealworms through the brooder window or thrown into their water dish.
3. Ducklings don't really need heat and heat lamps like chicks do, but if you're going to let them get wet in the tub it's not a bad idea to have one over their brooder. I used an 80 watt regular bulb. It helps them dry off.
4. Don't give them too high of protein feed. I started with 22% then moved to 18% and then to 16% pretty quickly. They grew like weeds. They also had some joint problems, so supplement their water with some liquid B or liquid multivitamins with b vitamins in it.
5. They can go outdoors pretty quickly. They are a lot more cold tolerant than you'd think.
6. Ducklings LOVE to be carted around in trains.
7. Ducklings teach you lessons in life. Every now and again the universe randomly flips you the bird.

Your bator sounds like mine. Eggs hatching every few days & always stuffed full.I've got a hatch going on right now. So far two Orloffs out, and one Speckled Sussex in the process of zipping. 3 of each total.
I forgot that I might have asked the girl picking up the Orloffs for some "meat bird" eggs as payment for incubation. Not sure the hatch is going to be over today.... hope so so I can throw some of my tutors in, then get her eggs, then get the cornish in on Wednesdayish.
Talk about staggered hatching...

Hopefully BF can take care of the staggered hatching while I'm in Utah...![]()
Didn't think of the pan under the waterer. Will have to try that.
