Hmmmm....what else...what else....senior moments...

Or Blonde moment change of topic.....
I keep candeling but don't see any veins in the turkey eggs. Only 6 days but normally I see veins by now in chicken eggs. Should I be worried?

LOL. DH calls me the Chicken Lady.......................in the last few days, I've had 120+ chicks hatch...................in the incubator there is still 120+ chicken eggs, 60 turkey eggs, 20 duck eggs and last night I set another shelf in the cabinet. I told him I now officially qualify as Crazy Chicken Lady. I need to put together a CL ad. Unfortunately a lot of the new chicks were just for ME!

I candled about 40 of the turkey eggs last night, around 35 are developing...................5 turkey tester eggs are due next weekend. That was 5 out of 5, I think they passed the fertility test.

Yeah, we used a small litter box dug down into the shavings with a brick on the inside and outside to help them get in and out. It worked for the first week or so, then they got too big to contain the splashing mess. I also used a tupperware top the second time I brooded under their water dish. Every little bit helps.
Mine go to the wire bottomed cages in the basement as soon as they are big enough to walk on the wire, but they go n the chick brooder before that. I'm constantly scooping soggy litter from under the waterer.

Apparently, I can't read my own notes. I have 4 Brabanters & 3 GLB's. My eggs are marked Br & BB, so when I saw Br, I thought Brabanter! LOL
Brabanters and BLBs....swoon
Oh Wisher.....................................

Look what my two egg test hatch produced...........

And I really think (IMO) it is difficult to find a breed of chick with more striking markings.

(They're silver campines)
They are the cutest, Deb do you have pics of Golden Campine babies?
Here is a picture of my sexlink chicks
are the boys lighter? Looks like you got more than your share of them whatever they are :)

ETA you already answered! It's the old head dot not the feather color...blue sex links???? AWESOME!!!

Last time I had my banty brood the ducklings outside. That was WONDERFUL. She's doing it again this year for me. I only put 2 under her... but that should replace what the fox killed recently.

I hatched 76 chicks yesterday I took them out banded most of them sold 6 still have more banding to do so I can put them in the big brooder sadly most of these are for me too and I am going to put in more eggs today then as the weeks go by the chicks will be for other people thank goodness. I am hatching for roosters in a couple of breeds so I will have pullets to sell but I can't tell yet who is who.....I think most of my "sex links" I made were boys probably mostly girls in the breeds I need roosters but I want to candle my eggs I have some turkeys hatching later this week
