tape them open.. or maybe glue a mouse trap next to them so it will snap your fingers if you ever decide to try to close the vents again....

My plugs have all gotten lost so obviously they are always out.

I would forget to set the traps.

no idea who told you that.. but people have been hatching out eggs for hundreds of years in well vented "bators" from day 1 and getting very high hatch rates

leaving the plugs in is just a recipe for disaster if you happen to forget to remove them

That a huge difference in breeds from what ya thought and what ya got.

If I had the money for postage I'd be egg bombing everyone. I have so many eggs right now I put them on my FB group and since I'm driving out to the Bay Area today I'm trying to get back a hold of people who asked if I'd get them to them. ummm That's a long way to drive free eggs, but my daughter called this morning and wanted to know if I'd go out and pick her up, so just waiting to see if anyone out there still needs eggs.

I put the Guinea Hens and Turkey eggs into lockdown this afternoon so of course the first one has hatched!

WooooHoooo! My turkeys are laying!!!! Got the 3rd egg since Wed. Now I just need to convince them to both give me eggs EVERY day.
