Actually, I figure it costs LESS in electricity the more eggs you have. Once the eggs are all up to temperature, they work as a heat sink, so the heater doesn't have to work as hard to keep them all up to temp than if you only had one egg in there. So using THAT logic, your incubator will run much more efficiently if it is full ALL the timeThe way I figure, if you are going to turn on the incubator, it costs just as much in electricity to incubate 16 as it does 28 right?


Thank you. I showed your post to DH who sighs and shakes his head when he sees my two small incubators running, wondering what we're going to do with that many birds. I had him read your post so I could say "See Honey, it could be worse....."So out of the 318 eggs it looks like I have around 275 chicks.
