We are hatching turkeys and chicks together in a moving air incubator, the temp is at 99.5 and we keep water in the bottom for the humidity, it's usually at 60%. First batch of turkeys were fine, just a couple minor issues. Now they aren't hatching, or they pip for a few days then nothing, they die in the egg. And I have noticed it's just the turkeys. What's is going on?
Ps. On the final days of hatching we do move them to a still air incubator so they aren't turning the last 3 days of the hatching period

60% in my opinion is too high. I incubate at 40-45% and raise the humidity to 60-65% for hatch. It is good to understand the correlation between humidity and air cell size. When the humidity is too high or too low, it affects the size of the air cell. If it is too big, the chick/poult doesn't have room to turn and zip. Too small and it doesn't contain enough oxygen for the chick/poult, so it suffocates in the shell.

Does your incubator not have the ability to turn off the turner? Ventilation and air flow are the most important at hatch as that is when the chick/poult needs the most oxygen - hatching is hard work! If I had to choose between them, I would choose to incubate in a still air and hatch in circulated air. However most incubators allow you to turn off the turner so the best solution is to keep them in the circulated air for hatch, with the turner off. That will allow for the best air circulation/oxygen exchange, for the best results.

Ok, so just switch the covers and put the still air over the ones that are turning and moving air over the ones to hatch? And yes the turner is automatic and it goes by itself all the time.
The chicks and turkeys are being incubated under the same cercumstances and no issues with those hatching
