Second order of ducks in today...

Ideal already told me to let them know friday what happens. They are going to credit me for any deaths. Trying to avoid it, bad situation but Ideal has the best costomer service and they stand behind their birds 100%. I give them that, so I will not bash their service at all. Just some bad runs of ducks this month I think..

Ive got ducks from them before no problems...

I honestly think the ducks have issues from the hatchery. 90 degrees for 2 day old ducks should be fine, chicks 95 degrees. Of course the chicks are fine at 90 too. The ducklings being this latargic over 45 duckling and dying so bad only really leaves shipping issues or health issues.

I didnt order crested ducks.
Your right i hadnt noticed the temps

i hope it gets better for you

No need to bash them, it’s really sad this happened those poor little ducklings. I’ll never order from a hatchery again. Makes you wonder how many ducklings etc die being shipped through the mail every year.

I would put a heat lamp over the water and feed as well. I did that first day for my hatched chicks, just to give them a chance to get fed and watered well without going into the cold. Once they have some energy and hydration you can take it away. As it is, they’re lethargic, dehydrated, and to get food & water they have to go into the cold part. After the first day I took away the heat lamp. It might not help, but it won’t hurt to try it.

Oh my heart breaks for them...really hoping they're just exhausted!!

Figure exhaustion and stress. Beyond everything else during shipping they apparently spent a good bit of time exposed to cold - which is why they're hanging around the heat plate so much, I suspect. Just eyeballing, I think @sniper338 has done everything he can to give them a chance at survival. Hopefully they'll get a good night's rest and shake it off tomorrow.
