Second try at hatching quails! (This time I'm sharing the whole experience with you!)

Pics
I spoke too early, looks like one of the two eggs I though were infertile was a quitter, the last hatchling also deceased, I have absolutely no idea why, I left him chirping and moving around and 10 minutes later he was dead. Maybe some genetic disease? Still an awesome hatch rate nonetheless considering they were shipped with no protection whatsoever

Some just aren't meant to be.:(
I'm glad you ended up with a better overall hatch though.

Her! It's going to be a strong girl.
Woops, wrong gender :), I'm also pretty curious to see what the small one I helped will look like, he's literallyhalf the size of every other one, while his legs are fully developed, so he looks like he is on stilts ahah, he's eating and drinking normally though and the others seem to have accepted him for what he is :)

One that you helped? They often don't make it.
You did have a good hatch rate, congrats!

This is the best pic of him I could take, lowering the exposure helps a lot to counteract the red lamp, they all have the same color so itsi hard to see his body cpntouco but you can see how small his head is ahah, also in this shot Texart is peeking in with his head on the left

Yeah, it was one of those I helped, he was completely ready to hatch (blood vessels closed and yolk absorbed) and was chirping inside for the past 36 hours. Also thanks!

The small one also looked like he wasn't even gonna make it out the bator ( he couldn't get up and his feet were so small they fit through the plastic grid of the bator) after a cpuple hours tho he managed to stand and walk, i've never seen a chick recover from something like that to be honest, he's doing alright now and has already doubles his initial size, most likely the egg didn't have enough yolk for him (extremely small egg, odd looking shape too, it looked like a cone almost, very pointy end and very flat fat bottom)
