Secret hiding place (picture heavy)

Soo sorry you didn't get any hatching yet.
I don't have any advice on replacing her eggs... i've never had a broody... though I'd think she would need a time to rejuvenate before settling in for another 21 days.

best wishes!

Oh no! I am so sorry. You might have luck putting another set of eggs under her. I know that must have been so difficult opening them. If she's so determined to be a momma, then put fresh eggs under her.

You didn't interfere with nature. It is what it is. I hope you can make this into a teaching moment for the kids. Because we're all adults, but those kids probably will need some explaining.

I love that you let us go on this journey with you and Big momma. I hope this won't sour your enthusiasm.
My thoughts are with you all. Keep us posted Wendy

I"ve been loving this thread, and I have no experience with broody girls...yet! but it would seem to me that maybe she, the momma could use a rest...let her out in general population and see what happens.

Oh, I'm so sorry!!! How crushing for you!! As others have said, you did the best you could with the wisdom you had. If she'd been left alone she'd have sat on 40-something, so you didn't make anything worse by removing some of them.

Does she seem in any way ready to start leaving?
