I, too, have been reading this thread from the beginning and rooting for mama hen. I think TsaLaGi (below) says it best -- I teared up; when I read her (his?) post!

I'm another one who bounces back & forth between FB & here (used to be CuteOverload, too, but I can't keep up with THREE communities!). I do so love BYC, and I think I'd hang out here even if I weren't getting chickens. To think I might never have known what great people chicken-lovers are! Anyway (tearing up again), I hope you're able to get some babies for her! (Oh, and tell your wife we don't think she's the bad guy at all!)

FarmerKEN; There is multi levels of "happy endings" going on . I have learned so much about the compassion and support of the of the BYC community, and feel like a family member. Even my 19 y/o son has been asking about this situation. It has helped our whole family to remember certain truths of everyday life... We can't control every outcome, but we can (as TsaLaGi Acres said ) learn from those moments.
This is a pretty heavy response to your post, but I am too responding to the "Ending" ... May it just be an end of the beginning of this story, and jrleader99 will enlighten us some more.
