When I lifter her off the nest she was not too happy, she made a racket and even tried to get back on the eggs. As I moved them and marked them she seemed to understand what I was doing and went over to the new nest and made herself at home. She seemed content.
All things are calm now. Let's give her a couple of weeks and see what happens.
It's been a couple of days but I wanted to bring everyone up to speed on where the little momma is.
On Friday night, I brought her down from her attic bedroom and made a comfortable place for her in our one car attached garage. She took the climb down the ladder and in through the house well. She is in a large dog crate with her eggs and her in a plastic box with plenty of straw. She stayed on the eggs while we carried her and I have not seen her off the eggs yet.
The main reason for taking her out of the coop attic was to avoid other hens from laying eggs around her (I did find a couple of new eggs) and since I am away on a business trip this week I figured it would be easier for the kids and wife to take care and keep an eye on her. I think it is best for her to be in there too because her water kept freezing and no one wanted to climb up there to check it while I am gone.
I will see if I can get someone to take some pics of her new digs while I am away.
