Recently I noticed one of my Buff Orpingtons had a section of her comb seemingly missing. This flock has had weird combs before. One has a really large cockscomb (and is much more assertive than other hens) and another had a curled comb that flopped to one side. However, I hadn't noticed a comb with a missing section at all until now. I've been monitoring their behavior for a while and I haven't found any bullying, but the hen in question does tend to drift farther from her flock than others. I couldn't find any blood on her comb. I think it might have been pecked off, torn during mating, or possibly a result of an attack by something. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've had my hens catch their combs on branches and rip point off. They could also get frost bite on the points. Your girl will be fine as long as there isn't any blood.

I've had hens peck a finger off or have their comb cut off by it getting caught in the fence. How it's not bleeding, I wouldn't be concerned about it at all. If she is falling victim to bullying, you'll want to separate her if it's a problem. (Parts of combs getting pecked off by other flock members isn't always a result of bullying. I've had hens high in the pecking order who's lost comb parts.)

Thanks for the replies! They free roam a lot so it probably got snagged on something. I'm glad she has most of it, so she can still use it to regulate temperature. I don't think bullying is the issue.
