You wouldn't be likely to be able to take any bird out in public- chicken, duck, or otherwise.
Some hand reared birds are okay, like Wrinkle, but most others aren't.
My duck was hand raised, and she loves people- but even she dislikes going out.

It is possible, but it would take a very confident outgoing bird, and even then I wouldn't really recommend it as most would rather stay home with their buddies!
