Seeking "Barnyard Mix" hatching eggs--Cold Tolerant layers

The bantam crosses will be much closer to large fowl in size, but it is also dependent on who the mother is. The bantam x Leghorns will be slightly smaller than the average Leghorn. The bantam x Jersey Giant will get to about average large fowl size when mature.

I have not incubated any eggs from these crosses as my roosters are still young. However, most offspring will be black, white, or red due to the fathers' genetics.
That sounds beautiful. The plan was to breed dependable layers with some big breeds (JG, brahma), just to bump up the size a bit. I would be very interested in a bantam JG cross, or a bantam crossed with another good layer of decent size (RIR, NHR, maran...). I'm in Oshkosh--maybe we could skip the shipping and I could pick it up directly? Please keep me in mind--I'm trying secure a really diverse collection of genetics. The more the merrier!

You are more than welcome to pick the eggs up directly :)
In fact, I would likely include extras for local pickup if I have any.

I do have an ancient (5 yr old) hen who is, I believe, a production red that weighs upwards of 12 pounds and is larger than the average Brahma hen. She is my largest bird. She stopped laying ages ago, but that isn't to say she can't start again.

I will certainly keep you in mind :)

@JohnLongIsland Here are two eggs laid today by 2 of my Easter Eggers next to a storebought white egg for comparison.

nice! Did you breed your own EE's, or acquire the mix? I would love to tinker with that--I saw some eggs at a farmer's market a couple years back that were deep olive green with dark speckles. They must have been a blue-layer mixed with a Welsummer? They looked very cool.

I acquired the mix but all 4 have Ameraucana in them.
3 are 1/2 Ameraucana, 1/2 ?.
One is 1/2 light brown Leghorn, 1/4 Ameraucana and 1/4 Welsummer but missed out on the brown egg gene and beard.

That sounds interesting. I love Welsummers. I've never had one, but a friend in the country has a couple. They really lay some beautiful eggs. I don't need location, but what kind of distance are you from Oshkosh?
