I am writing to this community today to introduce myself and to humbly ask for your valuable advice. I am a veterinary medicine graduate with a strong passion for entrepreneurship. I am eager to begin my journey as an investor in the livestock industry, a sector I believe is vital and full of promising opportunities.

My academic background has provided me with a solid scientific foundation in animal health and production. However, I am just starting out when it comes to the practical and commercial aspects of the business. Therefore, I am looking to learn from the wealth of experience and knowledge present in this forum.

My Current Focus:

I am particularly interested in the poultry sector and am searching for innovative and viable investment ideas that go beyond traditional farming models. I am open to exploring opportunities across the entire value chain, including:

• Production: (e.g., broilers, layers, or even specialized/niche breeds).
• Processing & Value-Addition: (e.g., processed poultry products, packaging solutions, etc.).
• Ancillary Services & Technology: (e.g., ventures related to feed, nutritional additives, modern farm management technology, or innovative marketing solutions).

What I'm Hoping to Learn from You:

I would be incredibly grateful if you could share your insights on the following questions:

1. What gaps do you currently see in the poultry market (either in your region or globally) that could represent a good investment opportunity for a newcomer?

This being a backyard chicken site, I don't believe you're going to find what you're looking for here. The vast majority of us are opposed to commercial practices. That's why we got backyard chickens in the first place. Good luck with your research.

Hi, and welcome to BYC!

There aren't many of us that have chickens beyond what's in our backyards with a coop or two. There are a few who raise meat birds and will sell, and those like myself who hatch chicks and sell hundreds of those, but that's all from our backyards, small time.

If any were selling in BYC, they have to do it in the Buy/Sell/Trade forum

There may be a few here that have larger operations that might come along though. Maybe check with a few hatcheries with your questions.
