I'm sorry you are going through this. I have had respiratory problems in my flock in the past. There are a lot of potential causes. If you follow the link @Texas Kiki provided, there are some things the lab can/will test for with a swab of the throat or vent. Perhaps calling someone at the link she provided will help you the best. I agree that you should not have to euthanize a chicken for testing, however, if one of your birds does die from this mystery illness I think it is important to send the body in for testing so that hopefully you can save the rest of your flock. I'm sorry if you have gotten the impression that it is hopeless. It's just that the diseases can often lay dormant in flocks, sometimes for years. There is a chance your chickens can/will make a full recovery and go on to live long healthy lives, but know that they are probably still carriers of this illness and if/when you get new chickens it can be passed on to them. As long as you are not selling your chickens this is not a problem.

I wanted to tell you about my experience with respiratory illness in my flock. I had one chicken in particular on death's door. I was treating the whole flock with Tylan, as prescribed by my vet. In my case the one chicken was by far the sickest, but she eventually recovered and lived a healthy life for over a year later, when she died of unrelated causes. The other chickens never showed much in the way of symptoms and continue to live normal healthy chicken lives 2 years later (it might even be 3 years now). You would never know that they were sick. So don't despair. There is potential for most of your flock to live long healthy lives still.

I am sorry but this concoction will not work.
You will need real antibiotics.

This is always why you quarantine them away from your flock for at least 2 weeks and best to do it for a month. besides the stress fo the move can cause something like this to flare up , your endangering all the birds with different strains of coccidosis(sp)

Maybe you can figure out what you are dealing with and how to treat it. I would isolate the obviously sick hen immediately in hopes of minimizing exposure for the others. A dog crate or even a cardboard box would work for this.
I agree. Isolate the sick hen or hens immediately so it does 't spread.

They are doing better with garlic, apple cider vinegar, but was recommended by a friend who had the same symptoms in his flock and used Tylan 200,decided to buy some but was reading in instructions and it is used for respiratory problems in swine and cattle can it be used in chickens?I think I got the injection type, can it be fed to them in water if I can use it for chickens,it also says 1 milliliter for every 25 pounds I dont think any chicken is close to weighting that much :/ ,I also talked to previous owner and said that a lot of chickens get this and that it is a parasite in the stomach of chicken and that he also used tylan 200.Only one that seems really healthy in my flock is my rooster even though he is around everyone,3 5 month old chickens are doing good except 2,my 4 week chickens are doing fine, and only 2 hens are doing good,I have 18 all together so 9 are doing bad
