Seeking rooster (as pet) in Montgomery County/Houston, Tx area

SUPER feisty, lol. I got beat up again pretty badly tonight halfway through our bonding session, but it ended on an awesome note, so I feel like I made some great progress. My husband and I have no kids and an ark's worth of pets; this is hardly the first time I've had to out-stubborn an unruly new addition. The important thing is that I promised Mozzie a forever home and I'm determined to get to where we can happily co-exist ;).

that's awesome. glad you have the gumption to make it happen.... I've only seen wounded warriors myself...I raised all mine since chicks so they like to fight each other but never me.... the other rescues are super sweet just couldn't stay because of crowing in city limits.

We got three chickie girls as newborns last May. They're great little layers, but we have them primarily as pets. They're total love-bugs and super spoiled!

Husband and I have decided we'd like to get them a rooster for companionship and protection purposes. I know people are often looking for good homes for unwanted roosters, so we want to offer up a "forever home" to one reasonably social rooster. Age and breed are unimportant to us. The only thing we care about is that he's friendly towards people (not a run-in-fear type like all our neighbors' chickens) so that we can bond with him over a bag of "flock party" and some yummy veggies 🐓.

Torchic, Marcie Joy and Little Debbie can't wait to meet their new beaufriend :D!

Did you ever find a rooster? I have one that is super friendly to people and likes to sit with you so you can pet him. Are you interested?
