This is my first time hatching duck eggs. I've hatched chicken & quail, though.
I set 8 mixed duck eggs on 1/22. I candled today & saw good veining in 4 of the eggs. Two of the eggs were seeping clear fluid. They were 2 of the ones that are developing.
My question is: Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Should I be doing something differently?
They were shipped eggs & have damaged air cells. None have cracks. I'm using a cabinet incubator. Temps & humidity are stable. Non of the chicken eggs are seeping. (Duck eggs are in top turner - nearest the water pan, chicken eggs are in lower turner shelves.)

If they are seeping fluid they must have some very fine cracks. Keep a very close eye on these eggs. They most likely will go rotten, and may even "explode" if left in the incubator too long after going rotten. I have heard of people trying to repair fine crack in hatching eggs- But I have never heard of it being sucessful if they are seeping.

I have repaired cracks in chicken eggs before.
These eggshells look fine when candling.
They definitely aren't rotten yet... I can see the live embryos moving inside!

Thats good for now that they are deveolping- But you should still keep a close eye on those ones. The fact that they are seeping increases the risk of bacteria getting into the egg.
Would love an update next time you candle tohear how they are still going.
