I have no idea what happened but this poor Orpington was laying in her best when I got home today. She has what appears to be a very deep slice behind her wing that is seeping fluid. We had a hawk last week that took three of my young silkies but I took care of him and haven't seen another since. How do I treat this? Do you think another chick did this? http://twitter.com/steffie1375/status/240552834083475457/photo/1
my initial thought was the roosters spur placement. They're quite violent in their endeavors with the hens. I cleaned it out and applied neosporin. I will keep an eye on her. Thank you!
