Seizing duckling?!?

Just to be safe I wouldn't thinking that maybe a tad more zinc than a duckling would need. just do the electrolytes for tonight until you can get plain niacin or Brewers yeast.

OK will give the electrolytes and hold off on the brewers yeast until I can get some better, fresher stuff. :)

Ok so the brewers yeast I have here at home has dehydrated garlic, zinc oxide, and biotin added to it (it's for dogs and cats). Are those extra ingredients safe for ducklings? It says it contains 55 mg of Niacin. Something strange though, the bottle says it has tablets in it but it's definitely a powder that's in there, no tablets to be found!! They must have dissolved over time. There's also no expiration date on it. Just wondering if you think it's ok to give since it's all I have at this very moment.
I can't say for sure if you should use it or not, personally I would not. The feed stores are notorious for giving bad information, they told me the same thing about the chick starter. I ordered my Waterfowl Starter on Mazuri.com and it is pricey. Once they're older I will switch all of my birds to Flock Raiser.

I have seen some crested Cayugas I was curious and as we know may explain this even better.

I'd take a picture of him but I don't want to stress him out and him have another seizure, lol. Poor thing, it breaks my heart!! He sure bounces back fast though. I'll go and put the electrolytes in their water now.

Good idea and yes don't stress him any more. keep us updated on the lil one.

Will do. I just put the electrolytes in their water. As much as they spill it I'm tempted to sprinkle it over their food too so I know they're getting some. I'll be searching for Brewers yeast today and tomorrow and will most definitely keep you updated as to his (it's) progress.

Thank you all again, so very much!!!

I have to try that too. My eight year old daughter meant well and gave them a big bowl of water in their brooder. Ducks happy and "swimming", me as the owner-not so much.

Ok tell me if this is a no-no but I built a wooden frame covered in hardware cloth and put it in their brooder so they aren't having to stand and walk in the monstrous mess they were making on a daily basis. Anything wrong with that? I know it works for chicks and am hoping it's OK for ducks too.
