Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Here is a helpful chart: You could substitute blue for black for your situation.

Lav X Lav = 100% Lav
Lav X Split = 50% Lav, 50% Splits
Split X Split = 50% Splits, 25% Lavs, 25% Blacks True, but you cannot tell
the splits from the blacks; they are indistinguishable.
Lav X Black = 100% Splits
Split X Black - 100% Blacks No, 50% splits, 50% black. But once again, they
are indistinguishable from each other.
Thanks!! I'm saving this! LOL

My Lavender Silkies arrived Thursday morning, all accounted for and healthy! They all look great, they're all doing great and I couldn't be happier with them.

One question on beak coloring, not sure if it means anything, but if you notice in the pictures in my lavender silkie chick album, there are 4 chicks that have darker slate colored beak and 1 that has a bluish grey beak. Does this mean anything??

I wouldn't be concerned. I will likely darken.

Ok, I just wasn't sure if it had to do with the color of the chick. I'm loving these chicks, they're so friendly for being 3-4 weeks old and having traveled. They're not skiddish when we come to check on them in the brooder. If I take one of them out to hold, the rest come running over to that side of the brooder like, "Hey, what about us??" Just too cute. Here's a picture of one I took while it was sleeping...

I think your little silkie there is beautiful..... different coloring make's for very pretty..!
If you sell them.....just put a picture with it......and just say Beautiful Silkie...!
forget giving them a color...lol

Question does this look like a Lavender chick? I just got my roo so Im not sure what color a chick will look like. He is also with a blue roo over blue black and buff hens. If anyone has a pic of what a day old Lavender looks like Id love to see. Next to a black chick. Btw Ive had splash hatch and this is not a splash. :)

I hatched two Catdance Lavender chicks.

These chicks are day old.

What they looked like a few weeks ago.

They were penned with larger chicks that plucked their beards. Growing back now. I'll need new pictures when they mature a bit more.
