3 blacks-but one is a tad lighter than the others..not much though I snapped photos and will post when I have time to download ( it takes forever on my PC) but you know what thats ok-because I know what I have the potential to get..and Ill keep trying until I get a bunch:)

Any silkie people planning on going to Cobleskill NY next weekend for the show?

:-( NOOO I want to go to all these shows..Im so busy with having chickenstock at my house Oct 3rd I would wind up killing myself over the traveling..

Well we don't need you killing yourself, then everyone at chicken would miss seeing you at your house, you now they would still have it there even if you couldn't make it!

Well I'll be there, hoping to bring a bunch of sale birds, I'm running out of room, hubby is like YOU CAN"T KEEP THEM ALL! I finally have him convince that you do need to grow them out before selling. His version of growing them out is, the egg has just fallen off, THERE OUT! Sell them now!

Well we don't need you killing yourself, then everyone at chicken would miss seeing you at your house, you now they would still have it there even if you couldn't make it!

Yah my DH is the same--all though hes loooves how tiny baby silkies are

He only complains about hatching out alot of LF birds-he loves the bantams- hope you sell out -Im sure you will as your birds are GORGEOUS!!

Well...... I candled the eggs under my broody. 5/11 are fertile. Ill have to work on that, any suggestions? I think a lot of the problem was lay rate vs the time it took one of my girls to go broody. Some of the eggs probably weren't viable anymore due to the end of summer heat here in KY. I'm thinking about getting some plastic or wood eggs so i can collect the fertile ones and keep them in a cooler environment. I have thought about using fake eggs to at least have a trigger for someone to brood.
Until I can splurge on a nice incubator I'm solely depending on my broodys. I failed miserably with the little giant, LOL!
