Bren, I was told you, Betsy, Grace and a few others plan to be at the Shawnee show with birds for showing and for sale. I need to meet up or get with you to confirm you will have at least a pair of Lav and possible PI's??? Please email or PM me to confirm. My messages are NOT going through from this end and I dont want to miss out. Please...Thanks so much hun.

Misty, I will have at least five each of PI pullets and cockerels. They are from excellent lines, but are various qualities. All the cockerels are very typey, but some have a problem with either comb or a missing toe. I plan to sell them only as pairs, or I'd sell a cockerel. I have a lot more cockerels than I have pullets. I'm showing the father of all of them, as well as a sister.

Are they called silver partridge? If not, what are they considered to be?

Anybody have an answer for this???????

I call them Wannabe Grays. Because they really want to be a gray when they grow up. LOL
I have one in my living room right now.

Think of it this way, you have a paint horse it is either overo or tobiano. Both are paints just one has more white ie painted effect.

It is interesting that when the lavender is introduced that alot of the "split" offspring have a patterned effect. ie partidge, gray? A good example is the Black split chicks that Brenda has on her website, you can see that they are black, but a pattern can be seen in the picture. I think she has the picture titled Mutts. Also some of the lavender chicks are born with the little grey chipmunk stripes, that too is a patterned gene. Remember the lavender is a diluter gene. Just something to think about.

oh yes almost all of my splits or muts fom either lav or pi pen have what looks like a pattern or barring on the wing tips and sometimes are penciled throughout. is that what you mean?

I guess I will just call them eye candy mutts

I have desided to have just a crazy eye candy pen made up of really cool colored (none standard) SG and Silkies and sizzles maybe I will add a few to that pen and sell the others....

I also have a really nice PI that is so fluffy that I swear she can barely see. She is so nice I almost feel like I should sell her to someone who would show her, but the greedy part of me wants to keep her because she is so pretty. lol I am gonna wash her and take some pics and see what you all think. I think she is one of my nicest birds but unless I trim her fluff she can not live with a flock as she is just to slow and I worry will not get enough food or get over mated. I have her just with one lav hen at the moment since she is not quiet at laying age I really am on the fence as to what to do with her.
