Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Consider things like your own names, where you live, other hobbies or interests. I chose Sonoran because I live in the Sonoran Desert. I could have as easily used my name or the family's racing or that I like to read.

hey anyone feel like weighing in on a light lav possible pearl? I really am not sure what she is. when next to a lav she looks almost pearl in color, or she could just be a really light lav, she is certainly not white. below I have a few pics of her and then with her and a full lav to see the color difference unfortunatly the pics are not so great. I put her next to a Pi for comparison as well. (she is not for sale)

I will have to get a better pic of her with a lav as this pic does not really show the difference in color like I thought it would.

her color is easier to see against the PI

Not Pearl, no where near Pearl. A Pearl is a smokey white bird. She is Lavender.

Our Valentine's hatch is late as usual... 3 lavenders and one split lavender today so far...

Put a hardware cloth bottom in a wire dog crate. Hang it up inside a safe place (predator proof....ours is hung right inside the coop). Put her in with food and water and leave her there for 3-5 days. If you catch her quickly you can break her quickly. If you let her out too soon, she'll go right back to the nest box. The idea is to cool off her belly which will change her hormones and she'll stop.

We have about 25 silkie hens/pullets so ours is in use a LOT!!! Work very well.

Found a 'flock name' I like. I don't suppose there's a 'Motley Silkies' around? Vocab workbook was somewhat helpful...that's something I can work with.
