Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

That's what I was thinking too. How many generations will it take to breed out the lavender or is it something that might stay recessive for many generations? Will it matter for showing if the splash has the recessive gene since there will likely be no signs?

Today was dechicking the house day! OH GOD THE DUST!!!! Well the varmits are out, except for 26 Broilers,46 Silkies and 12 or so Wyandottes, and a handful of Ameraucanas left to grow a bit before they fly to the barn. Temps are going back up to 90 tomorrow so had to get them out while I could so they could get used to it.Tomorrow is another full day! God I need a Vacation!

April, you crack me up. How many chickens did you have in the house if you removed all but 84 and a handful??

I'm at page 184, post#1831. 138 more pages to go.
Most of the older posts do not have pics available anymore but I came across this one where fowlrus posted pics of some of her lavender babies.
Are all the babies in the pics lavender? It might be the lighting, but some are yellowish, some grey and I think I see a buff'ish one too.
How did these feather out? I would love to see pics of babies and then the pics of them older.
Back to reading and looking for pics
