Actually the rooster is pure Lav with 3 Pure Lav pullets/hens and 2 Lav Black split hens.
Pic of the daddy, he's a mess from getting into a fight with another roo...he looks aweful
I got the roo and Lav splits from Jen5680, and the pure Lav girls from AHappyChick, Silkie Horsechick (which got her from Reese Poultry) and Darling Farms.
I do hatch out some slightly different shades of Lavender, which in my understanding of reading here is normal. I also hatch some Partridge looking ones, which again is normal for Lavs. I had the same question about the different shades of Lavender but after reading this thread I see that Bren & Deb and many others Lavenders are slightly different shades too. Even with the different shadings as chicks, I've noticed that as they get older the color tends to even out to the same Lavender color on all of them. Even the splits hatch out to be slightly different with some being very black, to some thats a little lighter because of the Lav leaking through, which is also normal from what I read on here? I sell all of my splits so not sure how they feather out?

post pick of the parents please
I bought the these lavender hatching eggs from a bycer.
Chickendales....no I have not bred her....she's too young.
I have a bunch hatched in June and July that I'm going through.
I suspect that there is a lavender gene or two in my adult splash silkies which to be honest I do not want.
But I'm also trying to figure out if she and the other 2 are lavender or washed out splash.
I know it is somewhere in the 300+ pages, but could someone please remind me how to tell the difference?
Something to do with tail feathers.
