21 week old BCM Pullet. Lives with 3 other 21 wk old Pullets. Coop is A frame. Bottom is 48sq ft. They free range 2-3 hours per day in the yard.

She flies up To her 3 ft roost every night.

I noticed over the weekend a few wing feathers were out of place and she was moving a bit slow. She can still fly up to the roost.

I found a small patch without feathers, and what looked like a tiny scrape (size of an m&m).

Today the patch was a bit bigger. A bit of blood.

Is she pecking herself or do chickens peck others under the wing?

Do you have roosters? It almost looks like mating damage from over aggressive cockerels/roosters.

This looks like an injury to me. Do they free range and do you have a rooster with the girls?

ETA: @sourland beat me to it.

I have Roosters in another location. It is only the 4 Pullets. All the same age.

They range in a fenced yard. hawks/eagles could be present, I see Bald eagles a mile SW all the time eating road kill.

The area looked the same on the weekend without the blood at the top and bottom of the pic. That is what made me think pecking.

Edit: better pic. And shows neck feathers for better orientation. She is now sitting in my lap talking. Muuuuuuah! She is making no attempt to leave.

Edit 2. She is definitely limping a bit, but flew off the 1 1/2 foot deck when I threw some mealworms out.

Problem is progressing in the wrong direction. Pics show blue kote where there was feather loss and how she tends sit now.

It is currently this BCM and a Swedish Flower pullet Sharing an aframe coop. Plenty of space and they range in the yard.

The BCM can fly. And will do so, but not very often

Pronounced limp on right leg. No visible injury or deformity.

It is pecking itself. I’ve observed it. The area pecked has grown quite a bit. The Swedish pays her no attention other than to snuggle on the Perch.

I isolated her for a bit, she continued to peck herself.

I isolated the other pullet, still pecking herself. I’ve tried giving her extra meal worms. She eats them and still pecks.

I used verma spray and I’ve tried blue kote. She eventually pecks it off.

I sprayed Martins premethin? Per instruction on both birds and in the coop for mites.

She eats and drinks.

Some stool comes out whitish/yellow and liquid. Maybe a bit Of foam. I saw darkish brown thick liquid manure in two places this morning. Not sure who it came from. I do see normal manure below where she perch’s.

She is verbally complaining.

Any ideas?
