If you go to the BREEDS page you will see Breed Selection Tool, here is a quick link, https://www.backyardchickens.com/breeds/breed-search.php

You
can check mark what you want in a chicken and the results will list chickens that fall in that group.
All the boxes are checked so just uncheck all but the ones you want.

from Ohio. If you look on Meyer hatchery website and click on the different breeds, they show their production of eggs, hardiness, personality, just to name a few. Good luck.

My suggestions for some good breeds are Marans (of course!), Welsummers and Austrlorps. All good in cold weather and nice sized eggs, mellow birds. They are also duel purpose, so if you start hatching out chicks, you have lots of extra roos to use for meat.
