sell or keep my flock?

I want to keep my chickens this winter but don't want them to freeze. Any tips besides a space heater?

Welcome to BYC!! Glad you joined the flock. What breeds of chickens do you have? Most do really well in cold weather as long as they have good ventilation in the coop. They have down under their feathers and they will huddle up, too. Damp will hurt them before cold will. I never use heat. What are winters like in your neck of the woods?

What kind of coop do you have for them? There is certainly no reason to get rid of them just because winter is coming but they do need a good coop where they can get in out of the weather. You might want to visit the Coop and Run threads to get ideas. With a proper coop adult birds really do not need additional heat.
