I know this is a super old post, but have just discovered BSFL in my compost and am thinking of starting a BSF farm. It seems easy enough, and the few I've found so far my chickens are loving!

Do it. I started one earlier this year - so far it's doing great and chickens are happy

I have been feeding them to my reptile for awhile. I ordered immature BSFL this time around when getting live insects for him. So now I have a ton of them eating and growing exponentially right now. They are plowing though the kitchen scraps as I type.
