Hi all,

Whats the average cost per dozen for eggs? Best way to clean them? And do I need any special permits to sell them? Its not like I have a farm, just want to sell the excess eggs. Thanks!

I sale ours for $2 a dozen if they purchase less than 5 dozen and if they buy more than 5 dozen it's a $1.50

It's all according to the area you are in and if the people really want fresh eggs.

i get between either 3.00 per dozen 5:00 for two and I can't meet the demand.

It depends on how many people you send the eggs to.
$3 or 2 is a good prize.

We do the same - $3/dozen or 2 for $5. According to Ohio law (check with your local dept of Agriculture) you can put up a sign and sell from your home without any problems. To sell off your property, you need to be certified. To be certified, you can't recycle cartons (have to buy the plain unprinted ones) with specific labels on them (ungraded, your own farm name, etc.) and the eggs have to be refrigerated at or below 42 degrees.

Up here it's $4.99 to $5.99 a dozen for farm fresh eggs. It's amazing how inexpensive they are in you all's neck of the woods!!!!

Course we are still paying $2.50 a gallon for gas here even though we produce the stuff!!!

I clean the eggs by rinsing them off and laying on a towel to dry and I get $5.00/dz..for large/Xlarge, $6.00/jumbo and $3:00/bantam eggs.
