I have pure breed chickens and I am having trouble selling them seems everyone just wants to go to local farm store and get unknown breeds for 2.00. I only ask 4.00 for pure breeds straight run. Any suggestions!

Where are you listing your chickens/attempting to sell them? Are you open to learning to sex the chicks so you can offer sexed chicks vs. straight run? Are there any "poultry swaps" in your area (our local TSCs host them in their parking lots multiple times throughout the summer months)? Are you known in the community as a source for poultry for things such as 4-H poultry project/show, etc? Do you show your birds at any shows/belong to any associations/organizations?

While I haven't had this issue myself, a lot of times its just the convenience of going to a store to get them instead of going out of town or someone else's house. AND because I think a lot of chick sales at farm stores are impulse buys. I know this doesn't help your situation but it might help you come up with a solution.

Good luck in all your poultry adventures and welcome to BYC!

Listing them on Craig's list and I don't show them, no time between work 40 hour job and farm chores.
I know the feeling, 50+ hours a week and then having a farm to take care off proves to be a challenge at times.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! If your farm or feed stores etc will allow it, you can put up ads on their bulletin boards.
