Selling eggs for consumption - Help word/edit my ad...

Quote:
I agree, the suggested line sounds better than the original question/answer.

I would drop the 'Mixed Colors'. We sell our eggs too - from farm and at farmers markets. Our cartons are either Brown or Easter Eggs (blue/green), no mixed cartons. We get an extra 50¢ for the colored eggs and I'm considering going up more.

We also sort Jumbo eggs separately and sell them for an additional 50¢.

The extra ¢ ¢ makes a difference in the profitability.

I also agree with dropping the question on prices. If you question the price, your customers will too. The people that will be purchasing your eggs will most likely know what for the highest quality eggs they will pay a higher price.

Just came across this thread and thought I would share my experience with the egg pricing.
I agree about not explaining the reasoning behind your prices.
I sell mine for $5.00 per dozen and thats that.
I had a vendor's table at a farm festival the other day.
I brought 30 dozen eggs, some brown some rainbow dozens and put a sign up that simply said- fresh eggs $5.00 per dozen.
I sold out in just under one hour and had people coming up to my car as I was leaving and asking me for more eggs.
I gave out my phone number and arranged some pickups for this week.
I did not go into how I only feed organic feed or how I free range my chickens etc.
Some people walked up with a $5.00 bill and took their eggs without saying anything and some wanted to make small talk because they were interested in chickens.
No one questioned me on the price because I did not make it seem like I felt it might be too high and needed to defend my price.
I think if you just put it out there like you expect to get such and such price and that you usally do people will think its the norm.
Good luck with it.
