Got it!! Have a nice day, it's hot and sunny here in Morden, manitoba, but we have lots of mosquitoes

Im sure I could ask store prices but I just want to get rid of extra eggs and pay for feed, also it keeps the neighbors from complaining about the rooster who goes off 24/7

I hear yea. Fortunately I dont have to bribe the neighbors because were I live is zoned for agriculture/farm. I do just give eggs away to the neighbors that need them.

We give away a lot, too. If someone is a "customer", they have demands. If you give them to them for free, all they can be is thrilled.

Our 7 girls keep us, both sets of parents, and a few elderly neighbors in eggs. I still often have enough to share with co-workers, too.

If we expand the flock substantially, we may start to sell...but for now giving them away is proving more enjoyable.

I started out selling mine for $1.50 dozen. Then one day a man stopped by and said you're selling your eggs way to cheap, I would have paid you $3.50 a dozen. So I went up to $2.00 a dozen. For weeks we had so much rain that I had to buy more feed than usual even though they free range all day so I went up to $2.50 and none of my customers complained. HEB sells free range eggs for $5.02 a dozen. My new RIR hens that are going on 23 weeks have been laying now for about 4-5 weeks, their eggs are small so I sell them for $1.00 a dozen.

When my GSL, BA and EE's started laying their eggs, they were small but not near as small as the eggs I'm getting from my RIR's even after several weeks. I'm wondering how long before they get bigger.
