Selling new chicks

2 Momma phoenix hens showed up the other day, one with 5 chicks, the other with 9. We are having a local Harvest festival this weekend and I am thinking of taking the 14 babies to sell for $2 ea. I am worried the hens will go off and start another brood somewhere unless I leave them a chick or two to raise.

Your thoughts?

I already have 28 year old hens and Roosters, plus another surprise 7 (3 months old) and another surprise 5 (1 month old) bringing my total to 40? (oh my)

40 isnt bad. Ive got 50 big birds, twenty chicks, some hatching as we speak and 200 going into the bator this week. If you leave her a chick or two she wont got back broody until they are raised. its hit or miss if you take them away what she ll do.
