Selling saddle on Craigslist?

I recently bought two saddles off of our canadian version--called kijiji. My dd and I went to the sellers house, looked at the saddles, and then brought them home to try on our horses. I was fully prepared to give her the money in exchange for trying on the saddles, with a signed doc stating I would get my money back if they did not fit. She didn't want any money up front--imo, that was stupid on her part. but. I knew I was good for it, so we went home tried them on and went back to give her the money.

Now, I am getting ready to sell my roping saddle on kijiji. I will insist on cash upfront. I will also bring the saddle to the prospective buyer, if they live close enough. or they can bring their horse here. Either way, the saddle willnot leave my possession without cash in hand. there are way too many scammers and thieves out there.

Yes there are a lot of scammers everywhere.

One thing I've done, is open a separate account at the bank, and had the person wire the money to the account. When it clears the account and the funds are 100% available, it's paid for.

I do love the Roosli! My trainer has been sweet enough to let me borrow it for the last two months or so and I'm ruined for anything else now

The others I tried were nice but just couldn't compare, especially when it came to fitting Watchy. I'm just thrilled she is willing to sell it because they've been a bit hard to find locally.
