When you guys order your straight-run silkies do you put the cocks on craigslist or how do you sell them? Do you have a lot of success with craigslist? Do people usually take silkie cocks or is it difficult for you to find a home for them?

I keep everything till I know what is what sometimes by 6-7 months sometimes longer. If I don't need roo's I sell or give them away to friends/family or sometimes have sold them on craigslist.

I just sold a pullet and gave them a Cockerel for free. It's easier that way for me, unless it's a sought after color then it's pretty easy to sell them.

Craigslist works somewhat. Or best farm buys, kijiji, hoobly, agriculture online or make a poster with a pic and post it at the feed store. (I have links for all those sites if you need 'em)

and thank you so much for offering. I have only used Craigslist for silkie roo sales and have sold them everytime.

Do you have a chicken swap/sale in your area? That's how most everyone I know gets rid of them. Ask around or check BYC topic for swaps/sales in your area. You meet some very nice people there.....most of which are as crazy as you are (about chickens, of course).

I'm not sure, I'm new to chickens. I guess I could research it and see.

kijiji just turned into ebay classifieds. There is a link at the top of ebay's homepage. I just put an add on craigslist for a silkie roo and sold him the same day. He was only pet quality, which I stated in the add. So I was shocked how fast he went.
